Spooky Pumpkin Punch

Served in a Ravenhead Entertain 23cm Serving Bowl

 

INGREDIENTS

750ml spiced rum

250ml orange juice

250ml lemon juice

250ml spiced syrup

125g demerara sugar

125ml water

6 whole cloves

6 allspice berries

1 cinnamon stick, broken in to pieces

1 star anise pod

6 white peppercorns

½ nutmeg, cracked

2 oranges

50g blackberries

8 tbsp pumpkin puree

600ml sparkling water

Cinnamon sticks for garnish

 

METHOD

For the spiced syrup

Add all the spices to a small saucepan and place on a medium heat, making sure to stir to avoid burning.

Once the spices begin to fill the air with their aroma, add the water and the sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Bring the pan to a simmer and turn the heat to low. Simmer for 10 minutes, remove from heat, and strain through muslin or a fine mesh strainer.

Allow to cool to room temperature before using.

For the punch

Store your liquid ingredients in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.

In a Ravenhead Entertain 23cm Serving Bowl, add the spiced rum, orange juice, lemon juice, spiced syrup, and pumpkin puree. Stir until everything is combined.

Just before you’re ready to serve, pour in the sparkling water and stir.
